Jade True Food

Jade True FoodJade True Food opened quietly last fall in the space that housed My Sister’s Kitchen in Middleton and carries on the torch of being a welcoming place for breakfast and lunch.

No matter what time you’re dining, I strongly endorse the homemade chips ($6). They were perfectly fried, seasoned with parmesan and garlic and drizzled with an addictive aioli.

The tomato soup ($4) is a staple of the menu, and as far as I know, there hasn’t been an additional soup of the week despite being listed at the top. No matter, the tomato soup, which was more akin to a bisque, was creamy and delicious. You also can get it as a side to your entree.

There’s an unlisted roll ($5 for four) replacing the Jade rice roll, and it’s made with vermicelli noodles wrapped in nori and then deep-fried. They were tasty on their own but also went well with the ginger-y dipping sauce.

The bulk of the menu is comprised of sandwiches and burgers. The excellent Meat Lovers Ciabatta ($16) was stacked high with ham, bacon, turkey, lettuce and tomato inside soft, toasted bread. The chipotle aioli added a little tang to the sandwich.

Jade True FoodYou can get the chicken in the chicken sandwich ($16) as crispy, grilled or Nashville hot. I chose crispy, and the shell was perfect in terms of texture but lacked seasoning. Fortunately, the chipotle aioli saved the sandwich, which was served with lettuce, tomato and raw onion in a brioche bun.

Among the breakfast items, I picked the breakfast burrito ($15). I loved that it had over-easy eggs instead of scrambled, the breakfast potatoes were tender, there was plenty of sausage (bacon is the alternative), and the avocado salsa further enhanced the flavor profile. I would definitely order it again.

Other breakfast items include omelets, bowls and waffles.

Jade True Food is open for breakfast and lunch every day.
