Madison-area guide to Oktoberfests 2023

Like last year, many of the local Oktoberfest celebrations changed weekends once again. We also have one new event this year. Here’s a look at the Madison, WI-area Oktoberfest events this month:

Thirsty Troll Brew Fest Sept. 9, Mt. Horeb Try more than 125 beers and ciders from 30 brewers. Also, how long can you hold a stein? Find out in the Masskrugstemmen contest.
Wauktoberfest Sept. 14-17, Endres Manufacturing You can’t resist a sauerkraut-eating contest or a brat toss. Plus, tons of live music, beer yoga and even wine tasting.
Full Mile Oktoberfest Sept. 16, Full Mile Beer Co. Includes live music and the release of two beers.
Essen Haus Oktoberfest Sept. 16, Essen Haus An indoor and outdoor party with live polka music, games and contests.
Puptoberfest Sept. 17, Wisconsin Brewing Co. An event to support OccuPaws Guide Dogs, with craft vendors and live music.
Grumpy Troll Oktoberfest Sept. 22-24, Grumpy Troll Features live music, activities for kids, food carts and a tapping of the keg.
Fall Beer Taste Sept. 23, Downtown Sun Prairie Enjoy 3-oz. samples of beer and cider from 20 participating businesses in downtown Sun Prairie.
Hometown Brewdown Sept. 23, Verona Formerly held in July, the event includes tailgate games, live music and more than 30 breweries. Benefits Verona youth hockey.
Capital Brewery Oktoberfest Sept. 23, Capital Brewery Features live music, a food truck and a stein-holding competition.
Oktoberfest at Breese Stevens Field Sept. 24, Breese Stevens Field New event this year, with more than 50 beers, live music, magic and two “Kegs of Destiny.”
