Cork Pops Legacy Wine Opener

Cork PopsAs if you’re not already rewarded after opening a bottle of wine, now you can have fun while doing so, thanks to the Cork Pops Legacy Wine Opener. I recently accepted an offer to try it, and I’m glad I did.

Cork Pops ($34) uses a low-pressure inert gas cartridge to gently pop the cork from a wine bottle. I wish I took a video during this process so that I could have seen the pleasantly surprised look on my face.

First, I used the tips of the wine opener to remove the foil by squeezing the top of the bottle with the wine opener and rotating. Then I inserted the needle into the cork and pressed down on the top, which resembles an inhaler cartridge. At this point, the cork pops up, similar to what happens when you open a bottle of sparkling wine. You then twist the top of the wine opener to remove the cork.

Overall, the process was fast and easy. With traditional corkscrews, I hate it when you push the wings down and then realize you didn’t screw in the needle far enough. Now, that issue is gone.

One cartridge will open between 60-80 bottles of wine. Replacements cost $14 for two.

You can purchase the Cork Pops Legacy Wine Opener on its website and on Amazon.com. Cork Pops also makes other wine accessories such as foil cutters and waiters’ corkscrews.
