Craize

CraizeA fire-griddled cracker with the crunch of a chip sounded enticing enough for me to accept an offer to try the lineup of Craize products.

The crackers are vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, seed oil-free, kosher and allergen-friendly, and they are made with real fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices blended directly into the dough. Each 30 g. serving (12 crackers) has 120-150 calories, 23-28 g. of carbs and 2 g. of protein, depending on the flavor.

I found the crackers sturdy enough that you can dip them or smear something on them without them breaking. They also pair well with both sweet and salty toppings.

Craize comes in five flavors:

  • The jalapeno crackers were so enjoyable. You get the jalapeno flavor without too much spiciness, and the crackers are even better with cheese spread or a slice of cheese.
  • I found myself addicted to the coconut flavor, which had a perfect level of sweetness. You don’t need to eat it with anything–it’s excellent as-is.
  • Guava is not a flavor that you encounter very often, and this version was wonderful. The full flavor comes into effect after a few chews, bringing tropical goodness to your mouth.
  • CraizeCraize doesn’t have a plain or regular version, but if it did, it would be the sweet corn version. This one brought out the essential flavor of the toasted corn.
  • The everything flavor does a great job of mimicking what you love about an everything bagel, especially the flavors of sesame, onion and garlic. Try it with cream cheese and lox.

In Madison, you can purchase Craize at Whole Foods. The brand is part of the Kayco Beyond family of better-for-you foods.
