If you crave something sweet, salty or caffeinated, then Dells Panaderia is your place, as it is part bakery, part Mexican restaurant and part coffee shop.
The display case upfront features cakes, tarts, pastries and breads. Any of them would pair well with a hot coffee drink (e.g., cortado or vanilla matcha) or an iced drink (e.g., macchiato or pomegranate tea).
For my sweet treat, I picked the berry Greek yogurt parfait ($6). The well-proportioned mix of yogurt, strawberries and granola was quite enjoyable. Of note, I didn’t know what type of berry was going to be included, as it’s not listed on the menu.
Breakfast is served here and includes a few American items. The chocolate chip pancakes ($10.99) were a disappointment. The pancakes weren’t fluffy and consequently, were hard to cut with a knife. Also, only the top pancake of the three had any chocolate to it.
Similar to the pancakes, the waffle in the trio breakfast ($12.99) was a bit overdone, so I had to soak it in butter and syrup to soften it. It came with scrambled eggs and bacon.
Among the lunch/dinner items, Julia’s Famous Tacos ($10.50) looked appetizing, with a ton of steak, onions and cilantro on each of the three tacos. Unfortunately, the steak was overcooked, dry and tasteless.
Meanwhile, the steak burrito ($12.99) was okay. It had a ton of rice inside and not much steak (which, based on the tacos, was probably a good thing), and it also had lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese and avocado.
Other items include milanesa chicken torta ($14.99), quesabirria ($15.99) and chilaquiles breakfast bowl ($17.99).
Dells Panaderia is open every day (seasonally) for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
