As mentioned in a previous review, I typically start my day with a protein shake followed by a cup of coffee. Thus, I was happy to accept an offer to try the canned version of Projo* Power Coffee that launches on Oct. 18.
Each 11 oz. can has 130 calories, 25 g of protein and 225 mg of caffeine. First, I am impressed by the amount of protein in there, as many so-called protein-packed items only contain around 10-15 g.
Keeping in mind that a typical cup of coffee has 95 mg of caffeine, you should know that you’re drinking the equivalent of a little more than two cups of coffee with each can, so you receive a boost right away.
Both the vanilla latte and mocha latte versions were fantastic. The flavors were true to their name, and the texture was creamy. You can enjoy them straight out of the can or on ice.
Of note, Projo* Power Coffee is an organic, fair-trade coffee infused with grass-fed collagen, digestive enzymes and organic coffee fruit extract. Its goal is to provide a convenient way to get a balanced boost of energy, enhanced nutrient absorption and sustained performance.
Beyond the cans, Projo* sells its Power Coffee as powders ($24.99 for 12 packets) to which you add either hot or cold water. They come in several flavors, including Smooth & Creamy Caramel and Bold & Creamy Cinnamon.
You can purchase Projo* Power Coffee on its website. While the products are available in stores, the nearest ones are in Milwaukee.
