Don&#8217;t forget that the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbc15.com\/2023\/10\/05\/no-freakfest-this-year-maybe-never-again\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">City of Madison ended Freakfast permanently<\/a> last year, which was not a surprise since many city officials never liked the event.<\/p>\n<p>Also keep in mind that many bars, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/2474199582769547\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gamma Ray Bar<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/866912921726140\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Northside Lounge<\/a>, will have their own parties and costume contests.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Fridays and Saturdays in October<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.screaminacres.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Screamin&#8217; Acres<\/a> ($28-$41): An immersive haunted house experience at Eugster&#8217;s Farm, beginning at 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 2.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Saturday, Oct. 19<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/schumacherfarmpark.org\/halloween-at-the-farm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Halloween at the Farm<\/a> ($5-$10): Held at Schumacher Farm Park, the farmyard activities include haunted wagon rides and a fortuneteller, from 4-8 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Friday, Oct. 25<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stonehorsegreen.org\/event-details\/spooky-stroll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Spooky Stroll<\/a> (free): Formerly known as the Downtown Middleton Trick or Treat, this event features trick-or-treating at 30 businesses, a costume parade and live music, from 3-6 p.m.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1214096529931149\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Warner Family Fun Night<\/a> (free): This event at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center includes hayrides, bingo, food carts and a movie.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mymonona.com\/449\/Halloween-Spooktacular\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Halloween Spooktacular<\/a> (free): Yes, this is an egg hunt in October, and it starts at 6:15 p.m. at a secret location in Monona (sign up to find out where). Afterward, enjoy an outdoor movie.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/majesticmadison.com\/event\/emo-halloween\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emo Halloween<\/a> ($15\/$20): Starting at 8 p.m. at the Majestic, hear tributes to bands such as My Chemical Romance and Paramore.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Saturday, Oct. 26<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.monroestreetmadison.com\/trick-or-treat-on-monroe-street-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trick or Treat on Monroe Street<\/a>: Various businesses on Monroe Street will hand out treats on Saturday and Sunday. Plus, take part in the dog costume parade on Sunday.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/high-noon.com\/event\/freakin-halloweekend\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Freakin&#8217; Halloweekend<\/a> ($15\/$20): Enjoy tributes to the likes of Duran Duran and Metallica starting at 7 p.m. at the High Noon Saloon.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sunday, Oct. 27<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.henryvilaszoo.gov\/event\/boo-at-the-zoo-3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boo! at the Zoo<\/a> (free): The event features trick-or-treat candy stations from 9:30 a.m. &#8211; 1 p.m. at the zoo.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/hilldale.com\/event\/hilldale-o-ween-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hilldale-O-Ween<\/a> (free): Take part in a dance party, pumpkin decorating and other activities, from 3-5 p.m. at Hilldale Shopping Center.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, Oct. 30<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/visitdowntownmadison.com\/events\/downtown-madison-family-halloween\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Downtown Madison Family Halloween<\/a> (free): Trick-or-treat at dozens of downtown locations and enjoy activities, including hayrides around the Capitol Square, from 3-6 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Thursday, Oct. 31<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/events\/1046884186662035\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Big Lebowski<\/a>: This is not a party, per se, but Bierock will transform itself into the bowling alley from &#8220;The Big Lebowski&#8221; for one day only.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Saturday, Nov. 2<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crawlwith.us\/madison\/halloween\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Halloween Bar Crawl<\/a> ($15+): The bar crawl runs from 4-11 p.m. and takes place at various campus bars.
