The lamb is not shaved off a spit; rather, it’s more akin to a lamb patty. Also, the wrap uses a tasty grilled Turkish lavash (thin flatbread), it’s not overloaded with onions and the tzatziki sauce is heavy on the dill.

The beef meatballs in the kofta plate ($16.99) are grilled and perfectly spiced, sitting on a bed of fluffy, buttery rice. They come with pita bread as well as greens, tomatoes and onions tossed in oil. It’s a wonderful plate of food, one that I would order again.

I’m a fan of baba ghanoush, and you can order it as an appetizer with pita bread ($6.50) or as a side ($1.50), which comes in a tiny cup. Aside from the small portion, the baba ghanoush was perhaps the best I’ve ever had, creamy with a little kick from the cayenne pepper.

Other appetizers include the grape leaves plate ($6.50) and Haidari yogurt dip plate ($5.99).

For dessert, you can choose between the Turkish walnut baklava ($3.99) and pistachio baklava ($3.99). I got the latter, and it was a flaky, nutty and sweet treat.

The Mediterranean Joint is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday.

The Mediterranean Joint serves up some delicious fare, and I look forward to future visits whenever I’m near the Gateway shopping center on Willy Street.

[3
182,79
post-8694","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-restaurant-reviews","tag-mediterranean","tag-near-east
["GET
