For some reason, I've never found the right entree. I always leave feeling let down, food-wise.

I think this is pretty much the worst Italian restaurant in Madison. It's gross Americanized food with marinara that tastes like Windex slathered on everything. The few redeeming things about it: outdoor dining on the lake, the Garibaldi and their happy hour specials. Despite that, I would still go to Osteria Papavero any day over Paisan's.

Paisan's has been my wife's and my favorite Italian restaurant since we first started dating. I remember when it was located at the old University Square location. The move was temporary,but I think they have improved the atmosphere and kept the same quality of food; and taste untouched. I would highly recomend this restaurant for any out-of towners visiting the Monona Terrace and downtown area. The taste and qualtity of service has always been very good. Classic Madison restaurant experience!
