Jet’s Pizza

20171003_113637I wasn’t originally planning on reviewing Jet’s Pizza, but I changed my mind after looking at its menu more closely and realizing it goes beyond the standard pizza place.

Pizza comes in either deep dish or hand-tossed crusts, and I am a fan of the former because at Jet’s, they’re thick, smothered with cheese and loaded with toppings and thus full of flavor. You can enhance your crusts, too. The turbo crust, for example, combines butter, garlic and romano flavoring, making the already enjoyable deep dish crust even better.

Specialty pizzas include Alfredo chicken, BLT and Meatball Supremo. I really liked the Eugene Supreme ($13 as a 4 Corner pizza, $21 as 8 Corner pizza) for its ample amount of sausage and balanced mix of onions, green peppers and mild peppers.

Jetzees are sandwiches that use garlic parmesan bread–similar to Little Caesar’s crazy bread–automatically making the 8″ sandwich  ($6.99) unique and tasty. I enjoyed the steak & cheese for its tender steak and fresh tomatoes, and the side of Italian dressing was unnecessary but did add another level of flavor.

The tuna deli boat ($6.99), the other form of sandwich that’s offered, did have a deli freshness to it, despite that it uses thick pizza dough topped with butter and romano as the bread (so have a few napkins ready). Other deli boats include Italian and veggie.

20171020_113405“Sidekicks” are comprised of various forms of breadsticks and wings. The Jet’s Triple Cheese Turbo Stix ($5.99) were crunchy and cheesy but not overly so, and they weren’t as garlicky as I had anticipated, but nonetheless, these stix are crowd-pleasers. Although you won’t need any sauce, you have your choice of alfredo, bleu cheese, butter garlic, jalapeno cheese, pizza or ranch.

I do have to warn you that all this deliciousness comes at a major cost to your health. According to the Jet’s Pizza website, the steak & cheese jetzees are 1,350 calories, the tuna deli boats are 1,200 calories, each slice of the 4 Corner Eugene Supreme is 450 calories and each stick of the Triple Cheese Turbo Stix is 150 calories. The portion sizes aren’t that big, either, meaning a lot of calories are crammed into each bite.

Jet’s Pizza is open every day for lunch and dinner (carryout-only).
